[ kanaya lucked out on missing rose while she was moving out. when she comes home, kanaya's former office is empty, and rose's room has been cleaned, clothes folded and all the books returned to the shelf, except three that are missing.

of course, the most notable thing is probably the 41 bundles of cash piled on the floor, 50 $20 bills in each. so, kanaya noticed she didn't empty the safe. ]

I know that you don't want to hear it, but I forgive you. The moment I knew that it was you, I forgave you. I can't hold you responsible for decisions you did not make. I can't blame you for getting involved in a situation that I forced you into. I put you in danger long before you became Hobgoblin and there are no apologies big enough or sincere enough for me to make that might atone for that. I will never regret being honest with you, but I should have kept you out of this.

I think that truth of the matter is that you will be safer away from me as much as you think that I will be safer away from you. I don't expect a response to this and that's fine, but you know me -- I can't let things lie.

dave said he'd keep mum, but dave intending not to say something and dave not saying something are completely different things. kanaya knows she doesn't have much time to waste, even sleeping on it first may have lost some of it. talking to rose always takes some emotional preparation these days. ]
